Design Concept
The new look for the Opthamology Office is modern, inviting, and fun. Curvilinear lines define two distinct areas, the office’s reception/check-in area and the eyeglasses retail shop, while keeping the space open and easily accessible. Lighting fixtures repeat the curves with concentric and single circles producing a whimsical atmosphere for waiting clientele and those trying out new looks. To create harmony and balance while maintaining the two distinct spaces, recessed circles in the lower ceiling over the retail space are at the same elevation as the suspended luminaires in the reception area. This creates an invisible plane linking the two spaces. The doctor’s office and exam room are more formal but visual interest is not missing. Glowing panels in the exam room ceiling give the feeling of open sky in a room with no windows and the office has a unique luminaire with two different stepped lens heights. The doctor’s office and retail shop lighting systems include daylight sensors and dimmers for energy efficiency and a fully controllable lighting environment.
